Go Mustangs!!!

Have I mentioned that it is Football season...............
Once again, we are crazy about A-R Football. Since we live 3 hours away this year it was harder for us to get back to many games, but thanks to Megan Tonderum and her great texting, she was able to give us play by play for the games.
I have 2 cousins on the team again this year, #25 Tyler Tonderum & #13 Dakota Odermann, they both have had a great season so far.
Tonight they played in the First Round game for State, they Beat WestBend Mallard. They now will play Friday night against Graettinger-Terril. ( I still can not believe G-T beat #4 North Sentral Kossuth) I am super excited to go to the game on Friday!!!

We are back to Blogging

What have the Hoyer's been up to the last 3 month??????
It seems like we are always on the go, hopefully things will start to slow down for us.

Since my last post was in August I will just quickly recap what we've been doing.

August
* Girls were finishing up the summer at home with the sitter during the week, They had alot of fun hanging out at the pool right here at our complex.
**For the first time in over 10 years, I got to go to the Iowa State Fair. It was so much fun. Mom, Allie, Kristin and Melissa & her girls came to stay with us and we all went to the fair together. We can't wait to go again next year.
*** Kayla and Madi both started new schools. Kayla is in the 3rd grade at Westridge Elementary and Madison is in 4 yr old pre-school at Traditions Childcare Center. They both adjusted well their new schools.
****Kayla turned 8 on her 2nd day of school. We had a fun Birthday Party for her the weekend after her birthday in Sioux Falls her South Dakota Friends. We took 5 girls to the indoor water park for a night full of swimming, pizza and lots of giggling.

September
* We spent Labor Day weekend in Sabula with the whole Hoyer Family- We always enjoy going to the River City.
** My Birthday was on the 11th, the girls and I went back to Armstrong to watch the A-R football game. We are so excited to watch my 2 cousins play on the team again this year.
*** Chris and I had a weekend get-away with his parents and Erica & Anthony to Chicago. The women enjoyed a weekend full of great shopping and the guys highlight was going to the Chicago Bears vs Pittsburgh Steelers Football game on Sunday. Since Denny is a huge Bears fan and Chris is a Huge Steelers fan, we knew it was going to be fun.
**** I also stuck away to Florida for a couple days for a work trip, the weather was beautifull, but since I was there for work, I did not get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked.
***** Chris & I celebrated our 5th wedding Anniversary on the 25th. We were not able to celebrate together since I was in Sunny Florida and he was home with the kids.
****** Madison turned 4 on the 26th. She got to take cupcakes to school to share with her friends. As soon as they picked mom up from the airport we headed to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate Madi's birthday.

October
* For the first time in a long time, we stayed home for a weekend..... How relaxing...
** Last weekend we road tripped to Armstrong. My whole family was home so it was great. We all went to watch the football game on Friday night. (Let's just say Tyler and Dakota had their own cheering section!!) Our new motto at my mom's is "Most people would call it Chaos, we call it visiting" It is so great when we are all home.
*** My little sister Kristin turned the big 21!!! We had a amazing time celebrating with her.

WoW............. We are busy people.... and we don't stop. This weekend Chris & I are going to be in South Dakota visiting our friends and helping our old babysitter, Emily celebrate her 21st birthday. Madi is going to spend the weekend at Grandma Coleen's and Kayla is going to be spending the weekend with Grandma Brenda.

I hope this has us all updated.

Update

We have found a Townhouse to rent in West Des Moines..... We have the Keys, so we can move things down whenever. The girls & I will 'officially' move down in June after Chris & I get back from Vegas.
This past weekend was busy for us..... After dropping the girls off at School & daycare on Thursday, I hit the road and drove to Des Moines to do the walk through and pay the first months rent at the townhouse. It looks a lot bigger than I remember, maybe because the last time I looked at it, it was full of really big furniture and smelled funny. It has 3 levels, the 3 bedrooms are on the top level with full bath. The master bedroom has a walk in closet and a private bathroom. (I'm going to like this) The Main level is the Living room, Dining area, Kitchen and a 1/2 bath. The basement is finished with another living room and a Laundry area.
I was not in Des Moines long, before I was on my way to Coralville for the weekend. I attended the Iowa Dental Association State Meeting, yeah, does not sound like a lot of fun, but I needed the Cont.Ed hours to get my Dental Assisting Licence switched to Iowa.
I got to stay with a long time friend (and cousin) Karissa Wikert. We had such a great time catching up and reminiscing. It was also a lot of fun to go out with my friend Cindy Preston on Friday night, you could tell we are not college kids anymore.... we were home in bed by midnight!!!
After finishing up my 16 hours of Dental Meeting on Sunday, I met my Sister Melissa and her girls at the Mall for some lunch and shopping. I then had to start my trip back home..... I was not looking forward to the drive.... good thing I only had to drive to Des Moines. It was so nice to Sleep in before heading home.

Oh.. The Girls.... they were at home.... Actually, they had a sleep over with Emily on Thursday Night and Chris came home for the weekend to stay with them. On Saturday they went to the Zoo in Sioux Falls, they said they had a great time. Emily picked up the girls up again on Sunday and took them to a Parade that was in Brandon. They had another sleep over on Sunday. I was glad to be home on Monday.

Madi caught a sub sandwich during the Parade, Emily had her yell "I'm Hungry, My mom does not feed me!!"

Happy Easter

Wow... It has been a long time since I have updated this.. Sorry, I'm not very good at this!!

What we have been doing since the last post...
**We have signed a 6 month lease on a townhouse in West Des Moines, Chris will move in May 1st, and the girls & I will move down when Kayla gets done with school.
**We booked a trip to Las Vegas with Jerm & Kristy Madden. (We actually booked this in February, but i forgot to write about it) We will be gone June 1-5. We can't wait, Chris & I are in need of a little Vacation!!
**Grandma Walrod has been in and out of the Hospital, so we have been worried about her. She has been in all of our prayers.
** We were back in Armstrong for a weekend and Partied "Old School" at the Harris Farm. That was a Fun night!!!
**Chris spent a weekend in Sabula with his Family. The girls & I were sad that we did not get to be there, we will be glad that when we get to Des Moines, It will be a much shorter drive. (Thank you Erica for letting Anthony Play with Chris on Saturday!!! I hope they did not get into Trouble!!!)
**Girls & I went to my cousins wedding in Akron last weekend & enjoyed the blizzard.

February

Sorry I have not updated for a while- the month of February has been pretty busy for us.
The 2nd weekend in February we spent in Armstrong, the girls & I got the chance to go watch my cousin Tyler play basketball on that Friday night. It was fun to watch Madi at the game cheering for Tyler, we had to teach her that his number was 22 not 25 like in football. (she was cheering loud "Go 2-2!" or "shoot it Tyler" I'm pretty sure the regulars thought that she was a crazy Tyler Fan.)
We really did not have much planned for the rest of the weekend, I actually was not feeling the greatest, so Chris took Madi to Ringsted the hang out with his buddy Stitch (Chris Jones) and his 2 boys. Madi had fun playing & dad got to catch up with Stitch.
We took a Mini-Vacation on Valentine's weekend. We took off on Thursday after work to go to Sabula, Iowa to spent the weekend with the Hoyer's. That Friday night the Felkey's invited us over for supper and Chris got a chance to play "the Tax Guy." It is always fun to see all the kids playing together.
Saturday we took the kids up to Dubuque to the indoor water park- They LOVED it!! That night Grandma & Grandpa volunteered to watch the kids so Chris & I and Erica & Anthony could have a romantic Valentines dinner. We went across the river and had supper at Poopy's (yes.. I said Poopy's- as in Shit- doesn't really sound 'Romantic.' It is a biker bar/restaurant, they have great food. We like going there when we are back.)
After Supper we ended up hanging out in Sabula at Chris' cousins bar that she owns. It is always nice to see family when we are in town. Chris even got to show off his karaoke skills and Erica got to experience her very first solo karaoke performance (with a little audience participation) We had a great night!!!

Last weekend we just hung out in Brandon- didn't really do much, It was nice to have a relaxing weekend.
I'm in Des Moines this weekend, I drove down Thursday afternoon to try to beat the bad weather. The drive was fine, I'm looking forward to hanging out with Chris & seeing what Des Moines has to offer.
