We are still alive

Sorry for taking so long to post anything, I really don't have much of an excuse other than that the girls have kept me busy.

What have we been up too..... Well, a couple weekends ago we spent the weekend with the Hoyer's at the time share in Okoboji. Faith had rented what they call "The Mansion" It was basically a three bedroom house with a big living room, pool table area & a two car garage. Cory said it reminded him of a mix between the house on the MTV show "The Real World" and a hunting lodge he stayed at turkey hunting. We had a great weekend, the girls love spending time with Grammy & Grampy and their cousins.
We also had a Open House on that Saturday, so I worked hard on Friday to make sure the house looked great. Too bad nobody showed up.... not even a nosy neighbor!!!

Last weekend Chris had to stay in DesMoines to work some mandatory overtime, so the girls & I headed to Armstrong. We really didn't have anything planned, so it was a good relaxing weekend. The girls got to help do something that not many kids there age can say they did, or will ever do. They got to help Papa split wood at the shop. Kayla got to run the lever that runs the hydraulic arm while Papa loaded the big pieces on and Madi helped stack the wood in pile after it was cut. Madi really wanted to "ride in Papa's tractor" so when we were all done splitting wood, Papa took Madi for a ride in his skid loader around the shop & was doing donuts. Madi loved it, but told Papa to stop because she was getting dizzy.

This weekend we don't have much planned, Chris is on his way home tonight. As you can imagine, he is pretty excited about the Super Bowl. Go Steelers!!! Madi wore her Steelers jersey to daycare today & a little boy told that it was cool!!

Prayer Request

A couple month ago I had talked on my Blog about my cousin Stasha and her fight with cancer, she has now gone through chemo & radiation treatments with great success. The tumor on her hip has shrunk enough to remove it. She is in surgery right now. She txt me about an hour ago to tell me that she was going into prep. Please keep Stasha in your prayers today & the days following, it could be a tough recovery depending on how much bone they have to remove. I'm at work, But I will try to keep my blog updated on how everything goes!!
